Our rammed earth house is built overlooking our large formal garden with potager (NZ House & Garden Mar 2004), to the hills surrounding the Marlborough Plains. We have a spacious upstairs bedroom with excellent bedding, a sitting area and TV, plus ensuite bath and vanity and separate toilet and shower room. Beechron Cottage is our recently finished/restored cottage situated at the bottom of our garden. It is built of Rimu with a new front and has been decorated with a Scandinavian influence, so is light and airy with lots of white. The floors are Rimu timber which has been whitewashed, aged and varnished. The cottage has a large room across the entire front with a kitchen area at one end and a lounge area with TV at the other end. There is a king bed and a small couch in the main bedroom and a double bed in the second bedroom. The bathroom is accessed from both bedrooms.
