High on a ridge with panoramas of native bush and sea this is one of Auckland’s best kept secrets – just a short drive north. The Ridge is perfect for a romantic escape, special occasion, unique gift or business retreat. All suites have super-king or twin beds, very spacious en-suites, large windows with great views, and private decks.
Just 45 minutes north of Auckland and accommodating up to six guests, The Ridge is a great place to sit back and relax, enjoy a fabulous relaxed very informal hosted dinner accompanied by local Matakana wines while taking in the breathtaking views that The Ridge has to offer.
Maralyn's menus change every day with your personalised menu placed in your room each evening before dinner - needless to say we try where possible to take everyone's tastes into consideration. What does hosted mean? this is where we as your hosts join you for dinner & breakfast - all part of what is a very casual and personalised way of doing things at The Ridge and in New Zealand.
The three beautifully appointed modern private suites are named after the regional parks of Wenderholm (green), Mahurangi (yellow) and Tawharanui (blue). Each one opens out onto a sunny north-facing deck (screened for privacy) overlooking our lanscaped gardens, the native bush and out to sea.
