High on the mountainside, the views are breathtaking, from the rolling countryside to the nearby Pacific Ocean. Nestled on the edge of native forest, home to many native birds, including resident Kiwi.

Ara Roa is a 36 ha property set on the North side of Kauri Mt, an area 30 kms East of Whangarei. Native flora and fauna abound in an area noted for it's high ecological values.
All Ara Roa Facilities are "single party bookings". Meaning you have the place to yourself.

Accommodation

Ara Roa guesthouse is the ultimate getaway for the weekend or an extended holiday. Combining contemporary architecture and a modern interior design with high quality materials it is a unique luxury retreat in Northland. The separate "stand-alone" house is perfectly positioned on a hill allowing fantastic views to the Pacific Ocean and the rolling country side. With 2 bedrooms it can accomodate up to 6 people, making it an ideal family getaway or a perfect romantic retreat for 2. Wireless broadband is now available at the guest house.

Main Living Area : An open plan room with kitchen and dining area with settee. Natural timber floors, original artworks and mood lighting. Television and DVD player discreetly hidden away. A quality built in sound system with CD player and a selection of CD's. Large openings onto both deck areas (partially covered) for an easy flow to the outside.

Kitchen : The kitchen in the guest house is fully equipped for self catering. Gas hobs, full oven, dishwasher and fridge freezer. There is also plenty of storage space for longer term visitors. Tea, coffee and sugar are provided.

Bathroom : The bathroom comprises a full double bath, large shower, heated towel rail and heated tile floors. Shampoos and soaps are provided. Fresh bath towels, hand towels and face cloths are also provided.

Main Bedroom : King size bed with quality cotton linens. Hanging cupboard and storage. Phone and alarm clock. Wonderful views with slider opening out onto the western deck. All walls and doors have sound proofing to improve comfort levels when staying with friends or family. Linen will be changed every third day or at guests discretion.

Second Bedroom : Queen size bed and custom made bunk beds. All quality cotton linens. Hanging cupboard and storage. Lovely ocean views with slider opening to eastern deck.

Ara Roa is centrally located on a truly stunning stretch of coastline. From 6kms of pure Ocean Beach (that you can often have to yourself) to the more intermit estuaries and rocky headlands that should satisfy the most avid of beachcombers. Combined with Northlands sub-tropical summer this creates an incredible natural playground of clear and temperate waters. Children (and parents) can have hours of fun playing in the surf – and boogie boarding is a favourite summer pastime.
