Imagine a discreet and exclusive retreat, a sanctuary far removed from the bustle of this busy world. You've discovered one of New Zealand's exclusive lodges; Queenstown luxury accommodation in a spectacular setting with stunning mountain views.
Remarkables Lodge has all the facilities of a small luxury hotel but with the intimacy and hospitable ambience of a country estate, epitomising the New Zealand luxury lodge experience.
Exclusive Luxury Accommodation Luxurious bedrooms, stylish bathrooms and spacious seating areas create a comfortable relaxing environment where you'll feel totally at home, and completely spoiled - dip into the cookie jar and find it inexplicably replenished with homemade biscuits. Luxuriate in a bath filled with water from our mountain waterfall.
After dinner slip between crisp cotton sheets and gaze up at the star studded southern hemisphere sky as the moon rises over the mountains.
Remarkables mountains climb a mile high, seemingly from the lodge grounds. Every day the mountains appear in a different form – sharp peaks silhouetted by the sun or hiding coyly behind wispy clouds, burnished by the setting sun or sugar coated with a brushing of snow. Sink into a sumptuous sofa, enjoy a glass of wine on your balcony or find a quiet corner of the garden and relax in the shade as you watch them transform.
Lodge Rooms: There are three comfortable lodge rooms, two have mountain views and one looks towards Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown. All are ensuite (one has a spa bath/shower and the other two have showers). Two of the rooms have superking/twin beds and one has a queen bed.
Premier Rooms: The Wakatipu - Enjoy warm afternoons and beautiful sunsets from this luxurious room with superking/twin bed, large ensuite bathroom with bath and shower, relaxing armchairs, and spacious balcony.
The Remarkables - Wake up to the sunrise over the mountains from this lovely room that offers a king bed, ensuite bathroom with bath and shower, comfortable seating area and a superb view from the balcony.
The Jardine - This spacious room, facing north, offers sunny, luxurious accommodation with a superking/twin bed and ample sitting area with armchair and a sofa, ensuite bathroom with bath and shower and two balconies looking towards the mountains and the lake.
The Garden - This charming suite located in the garden adjacent to the house was originally the shepherd's cottage and offers privacy and seclusion. It has a separate lounge with a sofa, a bedroom with a superking bed, a large bathroom with separate shower and spa bath, and a private patio with direct access to the garden.
Cuisine Home made preserves and bottled fruit from the garden accompany a cooked breakfast to delight the palate. For dinner local fresh produce is skillfully crafted into delectable dishes that impress even the most seasoned travellers. Discuss New Zealand food with head chef Andrea Glover and enjoy fine dining and superb New Zealand wines with a backdrop of stunning views.
Lodge History A former home, the estate's history dates back to the Otago gold rush of 1861. Queenstown's first European settler, William Rees, founded the Remarkables Station. Since then four generations have farmed it. The homestead, built in the 1930s, was lovingly restored in 1995 and in 2004 refurbished and extended. The legacy of previous generations makes Remarkables Lodge a building of character and charm.
