The property features a crystal clear spring, streams and waterfalls, two lakes, a brand new natural swimming pool (NZ's first!) and the Puketotora river for kayaking and swimming.

Avalon offers 4 spacious, luxury self-contained cottages and studio units. The one-bedroom cottages can sleep up to 4 guests and have a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and fridge. They also have a private bathroom with bath and shower. The timber flooring, pine cladding and quality teakwood furniture with super king size beds add to the character of the cottage. They all have TV, a DVD player and internet broadband (or Wifi) access. Your private deck and garden with sun loungers overlook the valley, golf course and Puketotora River.

Along with our new natural swimming pool oasis, the beautiful Puketotora River at the back of our property is great for swimming: very clear water and a sandy bottom make a dive very inviting. Guests may also try their luck and go fishing for trout.
Otherwise take a kayak and discover the bends and currents in the stream, surrounded by sub tropical bush.

Golf
With a view from your cottage over the golf course, you may be tempted to go across the stream and hit the green.

Walking tracks
Weekly we organize trips to discover nearby walking tracks. We walk to the impressive Rainbow Falls, along the pretty coastline from Pahia to Opua or we climb the Saint Paul’s Rock in Kaeo.

Put on your hiking boots and join us for a 2 hour walk through subtropical nature and enjoy the most amazing views of Northland.

Boat trips, diving, snorkelling
We can take guests out on boat trips ourselves to discover the beautiful Bay of Islands. Take sun block, swimming gear and you are ready for a trully amazing experience! Watch the dolphins and enjoy the scenery.
