Superbly located in a tranquil New Zealand rural setting, the beautifully renovated Redwood Lodge Bed & Breakfast is ideally situated in close proximity to the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves (as seen on Sir David Attenborough's 'Life in the undergrowth' and 'Planet Earth' series).

Together with the many other outdoor adventure activities that are available here in the heart of the King Country, Redwood Lodge Bed & Breakfast represents both the perfect stopover, and a base for the longer stay.

Redwood lodge is a superbly comfortable country lodge and sits amid 8 acres of peaceful rolling 'park-like' grounds including an acre of redwood forest. Guests can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome, and smart accommodation offering some essential home-from-home comforts and country breakfasts.

Guests are welcome to wander and enjoy bird watching the native birds in the grounds where you can meet some of the resident animals including sheep. We do not cater for pets in the house, but arrangements can be made at Redwood Lodge Petstay.

Redwood Lodge Bed & Breakfast near Otorohanga in the King Country and the Waitomo Caves offers guests a choice of 4, well appointed, quality, double bedrooms (king and queen beds) all with en-suite facilities, air conditioning and heating, complementary tea and coffee, hair dryer, and ranch slider access to gardens. Children are welcome; 2 of our rooms have sleeping facilities for a third person.

For your entertainment at our B&B there is an in-ground pool, hot-spa and sauna. There is also a games room complete with snooker/pool table and Sky TV. We have a large video library and guests can select a video to watch. Alternatively, for those of you that just wish to relax in the sunshine, sit outside your accommodation room or lounge by the pool.

A tour of the neighbouring dairy farm can be arranged where guests will be encouraged to join in with the activities such as calf feeding. We do not cater for pets in the house, but arrangements can be made at Redwood Lodge Petstay.

Breakfast: Your choice of cooked or continental with bacon and eggs, eggs benedict, french toast, pancakes or try our freshly cooked croissants with homemade preserve.

A pre-booked Dinner is available of one, two or three courses. Packed lunches are also available costs are variable depending on the desired content.

Along with the caving, black water rafting and outdoor adventure activities that are available here in the heart of the King Country, it is also an ornatholigists paradise. Redwood Lodge B&B close to Otorohanga & Waitomo represents both the perfect vacation stopover, and a base for the longer stay.

Close by is the busy town of Otorohanga, the official 'Kiwiana' Capital of New Zealand and the closest service town to Waitomo Caves. Otorohanga is also home to 'The Kiwi House', a native bird park, dedicated to the conservation of native wildlife and where endangered species of birds and reptile can be seen, also visit one of the largest 'walk-through' aviaries in the southern hemisphere. Just to the south is Te Kuiti, a town known as the sheep shearing capital of the world due to the annual New Zealand Sheep Shearing Championships.
