Stuart Manor was built in 1905 and was one of the original farmhouses for the Templeton area. Today Stuart Manor is offering boutique bed and breakfast accommodation, in a tranquil, private setting on three quarters of an acre of established and progressing gardens.
Hosts, John & Kim purchased Stuart Manor early in 2010 and have refurbished their home to a high standard for guests from all over the world to enjoy and relax. We cater for six only guests and our three guest bedrooms are all on the ground floor.
John and Kim have a Hospitality and Real Estate background and returned to Christchurch early in 2010 after a twenty year absence.

Our three rooms are individually presented and have been themed after some of John & Kim’s favourite places in New Zealand.'
K' Road Room
A brightly decorated room named after Auckland’s infamous Karangahape Rd. As its namesake, the room is bright, gay and a little fun.
The tiled en-suite bathroom has shower, toilet, heated towel rail, fan heater and rimu timber vanity.
The room has rear garden views, luggage rack, and built in wardrobe.
Hokitika Room
Autumn tonings, ferns and mountain scenes, Hokitika is the capital town and the gateway to the West Coast of the South Island.
The large en-suite bathroom has shower, bath, large vanity, toilet and fan heater.
The room has rear garden views, antique dresser and wardrobe, and luggage rack.
Akaroa Room
Akaroa, on Banks Peninsula Canterbury, and only 80 k’s from Christchurch was settled first by the French in 1840. Our furnishings reflect this French influence.
The large en-suite bathroom has shower, toilet, claw foot bath, pedestal basin and fan heater.
This is our largest room, and it has east facing leafy garden views, window seat, kauri dresser, oak freestanding wardrobe and luggage rack.
Dining Room
Enjoy breakfast in here by choosing from a selection of fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, homemade bread and preserves and lashings of coffee and juices. John’s cooked breakfasts are famous and you may choose from:
• Creamy Scrambled Eggs with Salmon
• Eggs Benedict with Bacon or Salmon
• Stuart Manor’s Farm House Breakfast
We will also provide a three course evening meal on request. We like to source all our ingredients locally and use our home grown vegetables and herbs as often as we can.
A complimentary glass of bubbles, or wine and canapés are served each evening from 6pm in the dining room or our guest lounge or even in a secluded spot in our garden.
The dining room can also serve as a conference room or as a private dining room for up to 12 people.
Guest Lounge
Our cosy lounge has a gas fireplace, sky television, a library of books, DVD’s and a selection of current and local magazines. Fresh coffee and a selection of teas and biscuits are always available. A perfect room to relax in. Our lounge and dining rooms face the main part of our garden. We like to encourage our guests to wander around the gardens, which are constantly being developed by Kim and John.
