Boutique accommodation is special.
It might be a unique spot by the ocean, or a secluded cottage in the country, or hosted accommodation with a touch of luxury, fine food and good company.
Whatever it is, somewhere along the way as the internet transformed how consumers should purchase their accommodation online, the unique elements that defined your boutique accommodation got lost.
You now find your property listed in a grid amongst motels & hotels with competitive rates forcing you to reduce your margins. This is wrong.
Accommodate Me is not about grids of prices.... its about accommodation experiences. A picture can say a thousand words. A video even more.
Come and show our boutique travelers what you offer. Let them discover you. Let them dream. Our customers already know why they should pay a few dollars more for an experience.
If you believe that your accommodation property should be listed on here,

Q : How are online bookings managed?
A: Online booking & availability is managed using third party services including Book-It and Vianet. Should your accommodation use another booking engine, we will be happy to provide a link through to your respective online booking page. However, should Accommodate Me integrate into that booking engine at some point in the future, we reserve the right to negotiate commission rates for each booking made via Accommodate Me. If a commission rate cannot be agreed, then we reserve the right to have the

Q : How do I display pictures for my property?
A: We want to maintain a high level of quality for all pictures on our site as this is what our viewers demand. For this reason we will upload your pictures for you. If we are unable to use pictures that exist on your current site, you will need to send them to us on CD-Rom.

Q : Can you provide us with copywriting services?
A: Yes. To view an example of our work, type '659' into the search bar to review The Shanty. We charge $30 for this service. A phone consultation will be necessary and supply of existing copy helpful. In some cases a site visit may be possible.

Q : I really like the Virtual Tours. Who can I contact to photograph my property?
A: We often get asked about where to get a virtual tour created and how. We strongly recommend Virtual Tours with Spin360. More business. More revenue. Search engine friendly. Powerful marketing tool with proven success. Visit (www.spin360.co.nz) for full service details or call Dwayne direct on 027 494 3586 to get instant results.

Q : Why should I consider Accommodate Me? - I'm already listed on other larger accommodation directories.
A: We know that there are much larger accommodation directories out there - however, we also know (from being keen travelers ourselves), that these directories are full of motels and big brand hotels who discount their rooms to move product.
Properties listed on Accommodate Me offer an "experience". Therefore competing on price on other directories will always be difficult.
Listing your property on Accommodate Me will distinguish you from other accommodation categories that are impossible for you to match on price.
|
Q : Tell me about your marketing.
A: Accommodate Me is currently marketed to the public via Google Adwords and ads placed in various magazines. We also publish a bi-monthly advertorial on Grown-Ups.co.nz and distribute marketing postcards in cafe's throughout Auckland. Google Adwords are targeted in New Zealand, Australia, North America, Europe and Great Britain.
The individuals behind Accommodate Me have many years experience working in advertising with big household name brands. We will be using these relationships in the near future as we focus on growing the brand locally.

Q : I'm on dial-up, sometimes the page takes awhile to download.
A: As Wayne Gretzky once said - "A good hockey player skates to where the puck is. A great hockey player skates to where the puck is going to be".
The world is moving towards broadband. Already the number of people in New Zealand using broadband outnumbers those on dial-up. (Neilson July 2008)
Accommodate Me will load in 1 second (average) using a standard broadband connection.
Our website statistics (Google Analytics), shows less than 15% of customers accessing our site are using dial-up (for connection types that can be identified). This percentage is decreasing every month.

Q : Why do you charge a yearly listing fee and take commission?
A: The problem we have is that for every 1 online booking made, we get 99 booking enquiries made directly to the accommodation providers. We do not earn commissions if accommodation is booked directly with you. Our business model is not sustainable on commissions alone. To stay New Zealand's number 1 boutique & luxury accommodation website, we have to charge a listing fee to assist us in covering costs for marketing further R&D.
|
Q : Why are booking enquiries more popular than online bookings?
A: Big brand hotels & motels are selling beds. In some respect you can say their product has become commoditised and as such, especially in the current economic climate, prices are dropped as low as possible to fill rooms. Accommodate Me promotes accommodation experiences. Prices tend to be more, but the product has value. My guess is that before potential buyers pull out their credit card, they want to reconfirm that value direct with you by asking questions.
