Our family are fifth generation New Zealanders, our passion is for the sense of history our New Zealand heritage home offers and to show our guests a glimpse into the life of our forefathers who immigrated to New Zealand in the 1880’s as shipping owners.

Stafford Villa has a reputation for elegance, comfort, style, service and attention to detail, providing a memorable and relaxing stay in a convenient yet peaceful location. Stafford Villa is close to the water, ten minutes by passenger ferry or a short car ride from the downtown Auckland and surrounded by tropical trees, with native flora and active bird life, away from traffic noise but close to everything you could need - leisurely walks, antique shopping and award-winning restaurants.

Our setting is peaceful and secluded, its intimate size offers you the chance to have it all to yourselves or share with one other couple. We organise your special occasions, romantic escapes, honeymoons, weddings, private gatherings or just a night away from your busy lifestyle our Traditional Victorian Afternoon Tea is perfect for birthdays and celebrations.

Within a short drive of Stafford Villa is a stunning array of beaches, parklands, numerous golf courses and premium New Zealand wineries of which we are happy to arrange personalised touring.

Accommodation
Stafford Villa offers luxury accommodation in two guest suites with a dressing area, bath and shower. The suites have been refurbished to the highest modern standard with the emphasis on style, elegance, comfort and privacy.

The China Blue Suite is designed around Chris's collection of blue and white porcelain and has more than a hint of luxury with an oriental influence. A large bedroom with an ensuite dressing area, the bedroom has access to the upper veranda looking out to the garden and Willow Bay. The antique carved mahogany four poster bed with 'ultra plush posturepedic mattress', an abundance of feather pillows, duvets, cushions, exquisite bed linen is very luxurious. A Chinese carved antique chest tucks away the entertainment system. The luxurious ensuite dressing area includes Villeroy & Boch bathroom fittings, spa bath, large wardrobe and Kauri wooden polished floors.

The Tuscany Summer Suite is decorated in calming creams and warming terracotta complemented by vibrant wallpapers and impressive red tartan drapes that add a dramatic look to the room. The large bay window overlooks the remaining Victorian orchard with apple, fig, and plum trees. Matching Victorian Brass bed heads create a king size bed or as twin singles, plush posturepedic mattress, exquisite linens, soft feather pillows, large antique armoire for the entertainment system. The luxurious ensuite has a dressing area, original roll top bath and separate shower. Guests have access to the return verandah from the entrance to the villa where the area for sitting and reading is quiet and peaceful.

Suites offer television, DVD, CD VCR, personal safe, luxury toweling bathrobes, silk kimonos, New Zealand natural toileteries and a selection of large fluffy towels. A gift box of de spa chocolates, fresh fruit and flowers. Turndown service in the evening with fresh towels, distilled ice water and evening port.

The Setting
Stafford Villa is located in the tranquil heritage area of Birkenhead Point in the midst of some of Auckland’s original Victorian and Edwardian homes. One of the first maritime suburbs of Auckland the Point is surrounded by the Waitemata Harbour. The Villa is located in a sheltered valley facing north and is set in amongst an old fashioned garden. Three beaches, cafes restaurants, boutique and antique shopping, harbour bush walks Harbourside art trails and a regular ferry service that operates to downtown Auckland are all within walking distance. A number of golf courses are 10 minutes by car and the wine area of West Auckland is a 25 minute drive.

The old fashioned garden and return veranda’s are tranquil and private guests can escape to the fragrance of beautiful roses, colourful flowers and abundant New Zealand native Flora and fauna. Relax in the colonial cane furniture with a book or enjoy a game of garden chess. Walking tracks to sheltered beaches, native reserves and parks with magnificent views of the Waitemata harbour are all within the vicinity of the villa.

The gothic styled conservatory is tucked in between the kitchen and the garden with access to the lower garden from the Victorian circular staircase.

A well stocked library with access to wireless internet for the traveller who wishes to work whilst away from the office or home.The drawing room features a large bay window, soft sofas, Persian carpets and beautiful high ceilings. An eclectic collection of oriental antiques mirrows its first owners Chinese and Indian Postings. French doors from the dining room lead out to the upper garden lawn.

Cuisine
At Stafford Villa breakfasts are special and are available till 10.00am, so leave plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before beginning the days activities. Breakfast is served with local fruit and vegetables and whenever possible organic produce from the gardens of Stafford Villa. Afternoon tea includes a selection of home made lite bites served in the garden or the conservatory. Pre dinner drinks, after dinner port, sherry and handmade Chocolate truffles selection of teas, coffee and cookies are all complimentary.

    Golf course, tennis courts, lawn bowls all 5-10 minutes drive from the Villa.

    You can climb the Auckland Harbour Bridge, fish in the Waitemata, take a nature walk, there are restaurants, cafes antique and boutique shops or just relax in our country garden with a good book. Two bicycles are available for guests who wish to explore the area and there is a giant chess set in the lower garden.

    The library offers a large selection of reading material magazines and books, wireless internet, video, CD and DVD library games and complimentary sherry and port.
