Nestled on an exclusive and privately-owned peninsula on the shores of beautiful Lake Tarawera, Solitaire Lodge provides a luxurious setting where the accent is on total privacy. Executive and Premier Suites

At Solitaire Lodge, you can be yourself whilst enjoying the laid back luxury and genuine hospitality provided by resident Owners and Hosts Wayne Tomlinson and Ingrid Jacques. From the crispest sheets and fluffiest towels to the complimentary in room mini-bar, no detail has been overlooked.

Styled with comfort in mind the six Executive Suites are bedecked in creams, taupes and beiges, the light subtle designs bring the outdoors in, inviting you to curl up and soak up the peace and quiet of the idyllic location. Sink into an extra deep bath and unwind. The well appointed bathrooms offer a separate spa bath and shower, under floor heating for the wintry months and a range of luxurious amenities.

Floor to ceiling glass windows provide a breathtaking outlook of the tranquil lagoon, or the glassy lake and volcanic summit of Mount Tarawera and private balconies allow for romantic sunset dining.

Solitaire Lodge has three premier suites, each have their own sitting room with sofa, dining room table, CD and DVD player and bathroom with spa bath.

The Villa Suite is ideally suited to couples travelling together or families. Internal staircase connecting floors or separate access available, so that it is possible to have a 2-bedroom Suite or completely separate living areas.

Dining

Renowned for its fine dining, the lodge serves mouth-watering modern New Zealand cuisine prepared with fresh local produce and complemented by superb wines from the country’s finest vineyards. Guests may engage in lively conversation in the Lodge’s dining room, or choose an intimate dinner in their suite or on the terrace where they can enjoy the scenery. Packages are inclusive of, pre dinner drinks, canapés, four course dinner and full breakfast.

Enjoy swimming from Solitaire Lodge's own private beach or take one of our Kayaks or a motorized Dinghy out to discover one of the many private swimming spots where azure water waits….. You will be amazed by the fresh, clean and crystal -clear waters of Lake Tarawera. Year-round, Lake Tarawera is a calm boating paradise. We offer all guests free use of our Motorized Dinghies which is a great way to independently discover the Lakes many treasures. Our Kayaks are also a great way to access some of the Lake’s most impressive areas. Paddle to Hot Water Beach and take a lovely warm soak in these naturally-occurring thermal pools or have one of our Chef’s pack a small picnic and set out for a private beach. Rotorua is world-famous for its Trout Fishing. Lake Tarawera is renowned for the size (many over 4 kilograms/8 pounds) and condition of Rainbow Trout it is home to. The Lake consistently yields the largest number of trophy-sized Rainbow Trout in the Southern Hemisphere. Keen anglers the world over have been drawn to these abundant waters for decades… Lake Tarawera is open to both fly-fishing and trolling for 9 months of the year and Brown and Brook Trout are also taken.
